Agri Novatex IoT
Precision farming, Romania
What needed
solving
An industrial farming operation in Romania was managing 400 hectares of greenhouses with a patchwork of manual sensor readings taken twice daily by field staff. Critical threshold breaches — temperature spikes, irrigation failures, soil nutrient drops — were often discovered hours after the damage had begun. A single missed alert during a heatwave had already cost the business a significant crop loss.
What we built
We designed and deployed a full IoT telemetry platform integrating MQTT-connected sensors across the site into a centralised Node.js processing engine. Sensor readings stream every 60 seconds into a time-series database. A rules engine evaluates each reading against configurable thresholds, classifies severity, and fires automated alerts via SMS, email, and Slack to the correct responder based on location and shift schedule. All alert history is logged for compliance and used to train threshold calibration over time.
