FleetWise
Fleet operator, UAE
What needed
solving
A UAE fleet operator managing 60 commercial vehicles was reactive in its maintenance approach — vehicles were serviced on a calendar schedule regardless of actual usage and engine condition, and breakdowns were occurring 3–4 times per month on average. Each roadside breakdown cost an average of AED 4,200 in recovery, repair, and lost delivery revenue. The operations manager had no real-time visibility into vehicle location or engine health.
What we built
We deployed OBD-II telematics units across the fleet and built a monitoring and alerting platform on top. Engine fault codes, mileage, fuel consumption, battery voltage, and GPS location are streamed in real time. A predictive maintenance model analyses engine diagnostic patterns and flags vehicles requiring attention before failure. Maintenance alerts are dispatched to the workshop manager 500km before a service is due, and driver behaviour scores are generated weekly per driver.
