What needed
solving
A UAE freight forwarding company was preparing customs documentation — bills of lading, certificates of origin, packing lists, customs declarations — manually for each shipment. A documentation officer was spending 6+ hours per day on document preparation, working from multiple Excel templates and copy-pasting data between forms. Errors in customs documents were causing shipment holds averaging 1.5 days per incident, with direct cost implications for the company and reputational damage with clients.
What we built
We built LogiChain, a document automation platform for freight forwarding operations. Shipment details are entered once into a structured form; the system generates all required customs documents — pre-populated, formatted, and ready for signature — using template logic that handles UAE, EU, and GCC customs requirements. Documents are checked against validation rules before generation to catch errors pre-submission. Completed document sets are automatically emailed to the relevant customs brokers, agents, and clients.
