Water treatment, Romania
What needed
solving
A Romanian water treatment facility was operating with hourly manual sampling for pH, turbidity, chlorine, and dissolved oxygen levels. The 60-minute gap between readings created a significant window in which water quality could deteriorate beyond acceptable limits before being detected. A regulatory audit had highlighted this gap as a compliance risk, and the facility faced potential fines if a quality breach went undetected and unreported.
What we built
We deployed a continuous IoT monitoring system integrating probe-based sensors with a real-time processing engine. Readings are taken every 30 seconds and evaluated against regulatory compliance thresholds as well as tighter internal control limits. Breaches trigger a multi-tier escalation: Level 1 alerts go to the shift supervisor via SMS, Level 2 (sustained breach) escalates to the plant manager, and Level 3 (critical) activates the emergency protocol and logs a compliance incident report automatically. All data is retained for regulatory reporting.
