SupplyLink
Manufacturing, Romania
What needed
solving
A Romanian manufacturing company was issuing 80–120 Requests for Quotation (RFQs) per month across a 35-supplier network. Each RFQ was manually drafted in Excel, emailed individually, and responses were collected in a shared inbox where a procurement officer spent hours compiling and comparing quotes. The manual cycle averaged 5 business days from RFQ issue to award decision — a bottleneck that was delaying production schedules.
What we built
We built SupplyLink, a custom procurement platform that manages the full RFQ lifecycle. Procurement staff configure the item, quantity, and deadline in a simple form; the system generates individual branded RFQ emails and sends them to the relevant supplier subset automatically. Supplier responses — whether via email reply, portal login, or CSV upload — are parsed, normalised, and loaded into a side-by-side comparison view. A recommendation engine highlights the optimal quote based on price, lead time, and supplier performance history.
